Fitz Vanderbuilt is a Sentinel Faction Engineer NPC who operates at the Sentinel Base Camp in Avant Gardens.

Fitz Vanderbuilt grew concerned when he saw that there was a gaping hole in the Sentinel Base Camp's wall. He sends players to the Monument to collect six Tile 1x8 bricks. Then, he asks players to use the bricks to quick build a barricade to cover the hole in the wall. Fitz Vanderbuilt rewards them for their efforts with more backpack space.

However, the barricade is quickly smashed down again by Stromlings. Fitz Vanderbuilt gives Daily Missions to return to the Monument, collect more bricks, and rebuild the barricade. He considers asking Assembly for a stronger wall.

Sometime during the week of 9/4/11 - 9/10/11, a Stromling sneaked into the Sentinel Base Camp, and Fitz Vanderbuilt found it sleeping on the RV gate. He accidentally woke it up, and it created chaos and anarchy in the camp as it ran around in a game of Stromling hide-and-seek. Although Fitz later admitted that he found the chase fun, he started an Avant Gardens Survival Contest to punish the local Stromlings for this act of impunity.[1]

Beta Information[]

In alpha testing and early beta testing, Fitz Vanderbuilt was unnamed and simply identified as Sentinel Engineer. Until late beta testing, Fitz was a woman, possessing feminine lips instead of a thick beard.

In alpha testing and early beta testing, Fitz Vanderbuilt wore a visored hi-tech Knights Helmet and a Breastplate of Armor. Until the Crux Prime update, Fitz Vanderbuilt carried a unique spear design used by various Sentinel characters but never seen in an actual LEGO mold. In the Crux Prime update, this spear was replaced with one that combined the standard spear mold with a 1x1 cone brick.

Until late beta testing, Fitz Vanderbuilt offered an early form of Daily Missions in which players could optionally repeat A Real Hole in The Wall to earn more coins. Unlike Daily Missions, A Real Hole in The Wall could be completed multiple times in a single day. The feature was removed in late beta and was not reimplemented until the Power of the Nexus Force update, in which its mechanics were altered to include Brick Patrol and limited to once a day.

Trivia[]

  • Vanderbuilt is a LEGO twist on the surname Vanderbilt.
