- "Wow...it looks like Nexus Tower is becoming a reality."
- ―Kurt Tussle
The Nexus Tower was built by the Nexus Force to protect the last shard of Pure Imagination from the Maelstrom and to stand as a beacon to minifigures across the LEGO Universe. Bricks were donated by players to the Nexus Jawbox to help with the construction of the Nexus Tower. The Nexus Tower was released with the June 1st, 2011 patch. It was released exactly one year after the initial completion of the countdown in The Great Minifig Mission. Despite being the headquarters of the Nexus Force, Nimbus Station is still considered the hub world for the Nimbus System, since Nexus Tower was designed to act as a hub between worlds not in the Nimbus System as well.
Plot[]
Upon arriving at Nexus Tower, players encounter Nexus Naomi who directs players to their respective faction leaders.
Assembly[]
If a member of Assembly, players will be sent to the Nexus Core to meet Dr. Overbuild. After greeting the player, Dr. Overbuild sends players to repair three imagination pipes to guide imagination through the Tower. After they complete this task, Dr. Overbuild sends players to find Duke Exeter in the Sentinel Command Center and talk to him about evidence that the Maelstrom is growing in strength. Once they meet with Duke, he informs the player that Dr. Overbuild is worrying and that Sentinel has got it covered. Duke then requires players to score 25 points in the Sentinel Combat Challenge. Once they report back to him, Duke explains to players that the Nexus Tower is perfectly designed and nothing can get to the Imagination Nexus. When he hears Duke's explanation, Dr. Overbuild agrees with him before he dispatchs players to Vanda Darkflame to see if she has finished his inverter core yet. Vanda informs players that the core is almost complete and that she has learned the startling fact that the Maelstrom and Imagination are linked. She directs players to look into the Shadow Orb, which plays a cinematic showing an evil figure clad in a top hat and surrounded by purple maelstrom smoke. The player's health and armor are then reduced to one and the vision ends. Vanda explains that everyone sees the same vision and that the minifigure is her old master Baron Typhonus. Upon hearing about his inverter core, Dr. Overbuild sends players to talk with Hael Storm about procuring an orientation system for his new machine. Hael then tasks players with finding eight compasses that have been scattered around the Venture League Observatory. Once they find all eight and return to Hael, he informs players that the compasses can be used to orient Dr. Overbuild's device and sends them to talk with him again. Dr. Overbuild expresses his thanks for the compasses and directs players back to Duke because he has sent out an urgent message requesting assisstance from all available Nexus Force members. The main mission chain resumes here.
After players complete the main mission chain and return to Dr. Overbuild, he will send them to Axon Klaxon to get the final part for his mystery machine, a 6x6 dish. When players return to Dr. Overbuild, he explains that his machine is a Property Scanner, and sends players to place it on one of their properties.
Paradox[]
If a member of Paradox, players will be sent to the Paradox Laboratory to meet Vanda Darkflame. After greeting the player, Vanda instructs them to look into the Shadow Orb to gain insight about the Maelstrom. On interaction with the Shadow Orb, a cinematic plays showing an evil figure clad in a top hat and surrounded by purple maelstrom smoke. The player's health and armor are then reduced to one and the vision ends. Vanda explains that everyone sees the same vision and that the minifigure is her old master Baron Typhonus. She then sends players to talk with Hael Storm to figure out what happened to Baron Typhonus after he disappeared. When they explain the situation to Hael, he says that he needs to think about it and tasks players with finding eight compasses that have been scattered around the Venture League Observatory. Once they find all eight and return to Hael, he explains that he saw the Baron create the Spider Boss, but didn't see what happened after that. He sends players back to Vanda to inform her about the Baron's fate. When they talk to her, Vanda cannot believe that the Baron would have created such a monster because he always treated her well. She sends players to talk with Duke Exeter, to see if he knows what happened to the Baron after he created the Spider Boss. Duke tasks players with scoring 25 points in the Sentinel Combat Challenge to see if they are tough enough to handle the truth. Once they have proven themselves, Duke tells players that the Baron was consumed by the Maelstrom and that if he is still alive, he is a prisoner. When Vanda hears the news, she states that she has heard the story before, but believes the Shadow Orb is suggesting that the Baron actually controls the Maelstrom. However, she still needs to know how he got trapped in the first place, so sends players to talk with Dr. Overbuild. Dr. Overbuild requires players to build three imagination pipes to guide imagination through the tower before he will talk to them. Once they have built all three pipes, Dr. Overbuild explains that the Maelstrom consumed the Baron because it came from his own dark thoughts. Vanda sadly relents that she already knew this in her heart, but thought that the Baron was only interested in science. However, she directs players back to Duke because he has sent out an urgent message requesting assisstance from all available Nexus Force members. The main mission chain resumes here.
Sentinel[]
If a member of Sentinel, players will be sent to the Sentinel Command Center to meet Duke Exeter. After greeting the player, Duke requires players to score 25 points in the Sentinel Combat Challenge. After completing his challenge, Duke sends players to Dr. Overbuild to see if he has had any good ideas for devices to assist the soldiers on Crux Prime. When they arrive in the Nexus Core, Dr. Overbuild requests players to build three imagination pipes to guide imagination through the tower before he will talk to them. Once they have built all three pipes, Dr. Overbuild explains that he has invented a Maelstrom Missle that is complete except for a guidance system and payload. Duke is pleased to hear the good news and quickly directs players to Hael Storm to acquire the guidance system. When they arrive in the Venture wing of Nexus Tower, Hael tasks players with finding eight compasses that have been scattered around the Venture League Observatory. Once they find all eight and return to Hael, he sends the compasses with the player back to Duke to use for his guidance system. Duke is grateful for the compasses and sends players to the Paradox Laboratory to get the payload from Vanda Darkflame. Vanda is exasperated that Duke never learns that Maelstrom Chaos is uncontrollable and instructs players to look into the Shadow Orb to gain insight about the Maelstrom. She provides Duke players with the payload for Duke but requests that they tell him to be careful because destroying the Maelstrom means destroying any clues about the fate of the Baron. Duke is very pleased that his missle is finally ready and shrugs off Vanda's advice about not destroying the Maelstrom. The main mission chain resumes here.
Venture League[]
If a member of Venture League, players will be sent to the Venture Observatory to meet Hael Storm. After greeting the player, Hael tasks players with finding eight compasses that have been scattered around the Venture League Observatory. Once they find all eight and return to Hael, he sends players to talk to Vanda about wreckage of the Venture Koi that she has recovered from Crux Prime. She then tells players that her agents have seen the wreckage but have not recovered any. Hael Storm is disappointed, but thinks that Duke might have recovered some instead. Duke confirms Hael's suspiscions and states that his men did recover several pieces of debris from the battlefield. He then requires players to score 25 points in the Sentinel Combat Challenge. Afterwards, Duke elaborates that he already destroyed most of the wreckage because it was tainted with Maelstrom, but gave some to Dr. Overbuild. Upon hearing the news, Hael sends players to try to recover the wreckage from Dr. Overbuild.Dr. Overbuild requires players to build three imagination pipes to guide imagination through the tower before he will talk to them. Once they have built all three pipes, Dr. Overbuild explains that he does have the wreckage and has been analyzing it. He sends the remaining wreckage to Hael, who is very excited about the news. Hael mutters something about an Imagimeter, but directs players back to Duke because he has sent out an urgent message requesting assisstance from all available Nexus Force members. The main mission chain resumes here.
After players complete the main mission chain and return to Hael, he sends them back to Crux Prime to collect 8 shards of the base of his mysterious Imagimeter from wreckage of the Venture Koi. When they return to Hael with the shards, he instructs players to quickbuild the base of the Imagimeter next to him. Hael explains that the Imagimeter allows him to see far-off worlds, and that he has discovered a mysterious, new Ninja world.
Main Mission Chain[]
Once players respond to Duke's message by meeting him in the Sentinel Command Center, Duke explains that they are needed on the battlefield of Crux Prime. However, he first must make sure they are qualified, so he sends players to Gnarled Forest to kill a Stromling Ape and retrieve it's anchor. When they return with the anchor, Duke then sends players to Forbidden Valley to retrieve 5 Cracked Ronin's Helms and 1 Splintered Lance from Dark Ronin and Maelstrom Horsemen. Duke finally deems the player strong enough to fight on Crux Prime, so sends them to meet Brannan Landers on the surface.
If players return to Duke, he will send players back to Nexus Naomi to set up their Nexus Force Vault accounts. Nexus Naomi completes the authorization of the player's new account and instructs them to interact with one of the bank terminals. Inside, players will find a complimentary toaster model and space to store all of their loot. Nexus Naomi then requires players to visit their Nexus Tower faction vendor to purchase blue imaginite. When they return with the imaginite, Nexus Naomi increases the size of their vault and sends them to talk to respective faction leader about acquiring a Property Safe. Their faction leader directs players to Avant Gardens to obtain a housing for the safe from Beck Strongheart. When they return with the housing, players' faction leaders inform them they need a functionater from Numb Chuck on Forbidden Valley. When they acquire the functionater and provide it to their faction leaders, players are directed to Gnarled Forest to obtain the final part of the safe from Captain Jack Knife, the lock. Finally, they are sent to Dr. Overbuild who assembles all of the pieces together and gives players a safe to use on their properties. If players return to Nexus Naomi, she will send them to talk with Honor Accolde, who explains that players can buy old mission and achievement rewards from him.
When players first talk to Rutger Hemoglobin, he tells them that he is studying how to use the Maelstrom to dye clothing. He requests players to retrieve 10 Maelstrom Samples from Skeleton Miners and Skeleton Engineers on Crux Prime. When they return with the samples, Rutger sends them to apologize Olivia Nightshade, who directs players back to Rutger. When they talk to him again, he explains that he has a sickness from the Maelstrom and sends players to talk with Dr. Overbuild about a possible cure. Dr. Overbuild equips players with an Imagination Backpack that is capable of curing Rutger after being charged at the Nexus Core. When players activate the charged Imagination Backpack near Rutger, he is immediately cured and expresses his sincere thanks.
If players talk to Meyer Muckrake, he explains that he loaned her his thinking cap to Olivia Nightshade and request players to get it back for him. However Olivia does not have the thinking cap anymore; she traded it to Achilles Plutarch in exchange for his shield. She gives players the shield and directs them to Achilles, who does not have the cap either. He traded it to Ace Warprider for his jetpack, but gives players the jetpack back so they can get the cap from Ace. Ace does not have the thinking cap either, he traded it to Gwen Tweenbangle for her smoke machine, which he gives to the player. When they give it back to Gwen, she explains that she already gave it to Rutger Hemoglobin in exchage for his hair gel. She sends players to Rutger with his hair gel, which he is very thankful for. He explains that he was using Meyer's thinking cap to hide his horrible hair, but does not need it anymore because he has his gel back. When player's finally return to Meyer, he is very thankful and rewards them with lots of faction tokens.
