This article is about the scrapped NPC. You may be looking for Sentinel Faction Guard, which refers to the NPCs in the released game, or Yawny Goodknight, a Sentinel Guard found in Nexus Tower.
The Sentinel Guard was a Sentinel NPC in an early version of Avant Gardens, and earlier in development, several generic NPCs in the Vanguard Outpost.
Avant Gardens[]
The Venture Faction Greeter would have given players a mission to patrol Avant Gardens and report to the Sentinel Guard beyond the concert area.[2] Then, the Sentinel Guard would have sent players to Nimbus Station to report the Maelstrom activity in Avant Gardens to the News Reporter.[1]
The Sentinel Guard was cut from LEGO Universe when Avant Gardens was redesigned. His role has been succeeded by Sentinel Faction Guards, Bullet Mullet, and Yawny Goodknight.
Vanguard Outpost[]
Several guards were present in the Vanguard Outpost, though it's unknown what sort of role or AI they may have had. The Sentinel Guard in Avant Gardens largely used the same design as these early guards, though the pipeline for creating NPCs had changed by then and the old model was no longer used.
Trivia[]
- On December 19th, 2011, a Mythran named Shival hosted a party for players in Nexus Tower, spawning various NPCs and creatures, including the Sentinel Guard.
- On January 30th, 2012, a Mythran mailed the Sentinel Guard's shield to players. Strangely, it occupied the player's right hand slot even though the Sentinel guard holds it with his left hand.
